IREE Participants '08
- Christiana Chang is an MS Student at the University of Houston. She has studied the damping characteristics of carbon fiber reinforced materials in her recent research work, and under the IREE grant she extended her research to the heating of concrete using carbon fiber composite sheets.

- Oliver Rivera is a senior undergraduate at the University of Houston. During the IREE experience, Oliver characterized the stress-temperature-deformation relationship of various types of Shape Memory Polymers.

- Kevin Weaver is a senior undergraduate at the University of Houston. Kevin used piezoelectric sensors and actuators to monitor the structural health of the glass fiber reinforced polymer in a wind turbine blade. The acoustic emission method was used for this study.
- Michael Fernandez is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Houston. During IREE, he used fiber optic sensors for structural health monitoring of a wind turbine blade.
